After graduation, the hardest question isn't how to prepare — it's what to prepare for. Pick wrong and you can lose a year. Here's a practical way to decide, without the usual "follow your passion" fluff.
Start with what you're actually good at.
If numbers come easy, Banking (IBPS/SBI) and SSC CGL play to your strength. If you're sharp at GK and reasoning but dread heavy maths, SSC CHSL, Railway (RRB NTPC) or state exams fit better. If you want a uniform and an active life, look at Defence (CDS/AFCAT/CAPF) and Police SI. Be honest here — choosing against your strengths is the slowest road there is.
Match the exam to the life you want.
Exams aren't just exams; they're jobs. A bank PO transfers across states and works with targets. An SSC desk job is more settled. A state PSC usually keeps you in your home state. Defence is a lifestyle, not a 10-to-5. Think two years past the result day, not just up to it.
Check eligibility and age honestly.
Graduation level, age limit, attempts left, any physical standards — rule out what you genuinely can't clear before you fall in love with an exam.
Look at competition vs vacancies, not just "prestige".
A "smaller" exam with thousands of seats can be an easier, faster win than a glamorous one with a brutal ratio. There's no shame in clearing the achievable exam first and upgrading later.
Don't chase five exams at once.
Pick one primary exam and, at most, one backup with an overlapping syllabus — SSC CGL with CHSL, or IBPS PO with Clerk. Five unrelated exams just means five half-preparations.

पात्रता और उम्र ईमानदारी से जाँचिए।
स्नातक स्तर, आयु सीमा, बचे प्रयास, कोई शारीरिक मानक — जिससे प्यार करने से पहले वह हटा दीजिए जो आप सच में नहीं निकाल सकते।

हज़ारों सीटों वाली कोई "छोटी" परीक्षा, कठिन अनुपात वाली ग्लैमरस परीक्षा से जल्दी और आसान जीत हो सकती है। पहले हासिल होने वाली परीक्षा निकालने और बाद में आगे बढ़ने में कोई शर्म नहीं।
एक साथ पाँच परीक्षाओं के पीछे मत भागिए।
एक मुख्य परीक्षा चुनिए और ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा एक बैकअप जिसका सिलेबस मिलता हो — SSC CGL के साथ CHSL, या IBPS PO के साथ क्लर्क। पाँच अलग परीक्षाएँ यानी पाँच आधी-अधूरी तैयारियाँ।
