Two quick-scoring topics together. Both are about comparing quantities. AVERAGE • Average = (Sum of values) / (Number of values) • Average of the first n natural numbers = (n + 1) / 2 SOLVED (Average) 1) Average of 10, 20, 30 = 60/3 = 20. 2) Average of the first 5 natural numbers (1–5) = (5 + 1)/2 = 3. RATIO & PROPORTION • a : b means a/b. If a : b = c : d, then a × d = b × c (cross-multiplication). • To divide an amount M in ratio a : b → M×a/(a+b) and M×b/(a+b). • Mean proportional of a and b = √(a × b). SOLVED (Ratio) 1) Divide ₹500 in the ratio 2 : 3 → 500×2/5 = ₹200 and 500×3/5 = ₹300. 2) If a : b = 2 : 3 and b = 9, then a = 6. Practise on Govt Exam Center to build speed.

अनुपात एवं समानुपात • a : b का अर्थ है a/b। यदि a : b = c : d, तो a × d = b × c। • किसी राशि M को a : b में बाँटें → M×a/(a+b) और M×b/(a+b)। • a और b का मध्यानुपाती = √(a × b)। 2) यदि a : b = 2 : 3 और b = 9, तो a = 6।
