The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has issued Advertisement No. 04/2026 (dated 25.05.2026) inviting applications for appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University (SLBSNSU), New Delhi. The Vice-Chancellor is the academic as well as the administrative head and the Chief Executive Officer of the University. The essential eligibility is that the candidate must be an eminent scholar in the field of Sanskrit and allied subjects, with qualifications as specified in the regulations made under the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, and preferably not more than 65 years of age as on the closing date of receipt of applications. The post carries a fixed pay of ₹2,10,000 per month with a Special Allowance of ₹11,250 and other usual allowances; the other terms and conditions of service are as set forth in the Central Sanskrit Universities Act, 2020 and the Statutes of the University.
