| (b) Essential qualification (i) | Master's Degree in Statistics or Mathematics or Economics or Operational Research or Population Sciences or Demography or Anthropology or Sociology or Mathematical Statistics or Applied Statistics from a recognised University or Institute; and |
| (b) Essential experience (ii) | Fifteen years post-qualification experience in a Government office / autonomous organisation / statutory bodies / PSU / recognised university / recognised research institutions in planning, coordination, implementation of Census or Survey activities along with compilation, analysis, dissemination of statistical data and report writing or formulation / implementation / monitoring / evaluation of schemes or programmes. |

Note: The period of deputation (ISTC), including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not exceed five years. The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation shall not exceed 58 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
