NIT Kurukshetra Recruitment 2026 — Director

The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, has invited applications for filling up the vacancy of Director at the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra (Haryana). The post carries a fixed pay of ₹2,10,000/- per month plus a Special Allowance of ₹11,250/- per month along with other admissible allowances as applicable to the Vice-Chancellor of Central Universities and the Directors of other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs). The Director of an NIT, being both the academic and administrative head of the institution, is expected to possess a proven administrative, teaching and research background — including significant experience in research guidance at the Ph.D. level — together with strong leadership qualities. The appointment shall be made on a contract basis for a term of five years or until the candidate attains the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.
