Army Agniveer GD Syllabus 2026

SELECTION PROCESS (CURRENT CYCLE)

Pattern for the Agniveer intake of Recruiting Year 2027 - notification issued 13 February 2026, online exam window 01 to 15 June 2026.

Recruitment runs in two phases and the written exam comes first:

- Phase I: Online Common Entrance Exam (CEE) at an allotted computer-based test centre.

- Phase II: Recruitment Rally at the ARO rally venue - Physical Fitness Test, Physical Measurement Test, medical exam and document verification - only for those who clear the CEE cut-off.

PHASE I - ONLINE CEE

- Mode: computer-based test, objective multiple-choice.

- Agniveer GD paper: 50 questions in 1 hour.

- Section split, from the official "Syllabus for Agniveer General Duty 10th" annexure:

General Knowledge - 15 questions

General Science - 15 questions

Maths - 15 questions

Logical Reasoning - 05 questions

- Held in 13 languages: English, Hindi and 11 regional ones.

- Marking: full marks for every correct answer, nil for an unattempted question, and every attempted question is evaluated even if flagged for review. The notification prescribes no deduction for a wrong answer.

- Scores are normalised across sessions to offset paper-difficulty differences.

- Exam fee Rs 250 per category. Aadhaar and a colour admit card are mandatory; biometrics are captured at entry and exit.

PHASE II - RECRUITMENT RALLY

- Shortlisting is proportionate to vacancies, by a cut-off on the CEE score.

- 1.6 km run marks: up to 5 min 30 sec - 60; 5:31 to 5:45 - 48; 5:46 to 6:00 - 36; 6:01 to 6:15 - 24.

- Beam (pull-ups): 10 - 40 marks; 9 - 33; 8 - 27; 7 - 21; 6 - 16. The Army may revise these timings and marks before the rally.

- 9-feet ditch and zig-zag balance: qualifying only, no marks.

- Medical exam at the rally site; a candidate declared unfit may seek a review medical at a Military Hospital within 21 days.

MERIT

The notification fixes total maximum marks for Agniveer GD at 200, and the Physical Fitness Test carries 100 of them (run 60 plus beam 40). Bonus marks (maximum 25 for GD, e.g. an NCC 'C' certificate) have no link to CEE performance and are added only in the final merit list.

AGNIPATH SERVICE TERMS

- Four-year engagement; up to 25% of a batch may later be selected for permanent enrolment.

- Monthly package Rs 30,000 in year 1 rising to Rs 40,000 in year 4, 70% in hand.

- Seva Nidhi on exit about Rs 10.04 lakh excluding interest; no pension or gratuity.

- Rs 48 lakh life cover, 30 days annual leave, and the Agniveer must stay unmarried.

OFFICIAL CEE SYLLABUS - AGNIVEER GENERAL DUTY (10TH)

Taken from the Indian Army's "Syllabus for Agniveer General Duty 10th" annexure published on joinindianarmy.nic.in. The annexure has two parts, a Pattern table and a Syllabus note, and the paper carries 50 questions across four sections. The Pattern table prints question counts only - it has no marks column and no pass-mark figure.

GENERAL SCIENCE - 15 QUESTIONS

Questions come from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, pitched at fundamentals and day-to-day activity:

- Difference between the living and the non-living

- Basis of life: cells, protoplasm and tissues

- Growth and reproduction in plants and animals

- Elementary knowledge of the human body and its important organs

- Common epidemics, their causes and prevention

MATHEMATICS - 15 QUESTIONS

- Number Systems: computation of whole numbers, decimals and fractions, relationship between numbers

- Fundamental arithmetical operations: HCF, LCM, decimal fractions, percentages, ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, discount, partnership business, time and distance, time and work

- Algebra: basic algebraic problems

- Geometry: familiarity with elementary geometric figures and facts

- Mensuration: triangle, quadrilaterals, regular polygons, circle

LOGICAL REASONING - 05 QUESTIONS

The annexure lists this section in the Pattern table with 05 questions but prints no topic list for it, so no official topic breakdown exists for this cycle. Treat it as everyday reasoning practice rather than advanced reasoning.

STUDY NOTE ON WEIGHTAGE

Three of the four sections carry 15 questions each, so General Knowledge, General Science and Maths are equally weighted and together decide 45 of the 50 questions. Logical Reasoning is the smallest block.

PHASE II - WHAT THE RALLY TESTS

- 1.6 km run, in timing groups that carry marks

- Beam (pull-ups), which also carries marks

- 9-feet ditch, qualifying only

- Zig-zag balance, qualifying only

- Physical Measurement Test: region-wise and category-wise height, weight and chest

- Medical examination as per Army medical standards, with a review medical option at a Military Hospital

ELIGIBILITY SNAPSHOT FOR THIS CYCLE

- Class 10 / Matric pass with 45% marks in aggregate of five basic subjects and a minimum of 33% in each of those five subjects. For boards following a grading system, grades commensurate to those percentages are considered. Indian Gorkhas: simple Class 10 pass.

- Age 17 and a half to 22 years. For Recruiting Year 2027 the notification fixes the date of birth window as 01 July 2005 to 01 July 2009, both days inclusive.

- Unmarried male candidates. A valid LMV or HMV driving licence is given preference for driver requirements.
