SSC Selection Post Phase 14 (2026) — 2,919 Vacancies: Exam Date, Admit Card & Selection Process

As of 13 July 2026, SSC has not officially announced the Phase 14 CBE date. The official notification listed the CBE tentatively for June 2026, but the exam was not held in June and is now expected in July–August 2026. The confirmed schedule will appear on ssc.gov.in.

The revised total is 2,919 vacancies across the 10th, 12th and Graduation levels. SSC initially advertised 3,003 posts on 13 April 2026; on 20 April 2026 the Commission cancelled 188 Geological Survey of India posts through an official cancellation notice and added 104 DRDO (CEPTAM) posts, bringing the total to 2,919.

Admit cards are typically released 2–3 days before the exam on the websites of the concerned SSC regional offices, and the exam city intimation goes live about 10 days before the CBE. Since the exam date itself is not yet announced, the admit card is not out as of 13 July 2026.

A single Computer Based Examination per education level, with 100 MCQs for 200 marks in 60 minutes: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Language — 25 questions / 50 marks each. New in Phase 14: the paper runs on a fixed sectional timer of 15 minutes per part — each section locks automatically when its time expires, so you cannot revisit it or carry leftover time to another section (scribe-eligible candidates get 20 minutes per part, 80 minutes total). There is negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer, and separate papers are set for the 10th, 12th and Graduation levels.

Yes. SSC conducts separate CBE papers for Matriculation, Higher Secondary and Graduation level posts, and a candidate appears in the paper(s) of the level(s) they applied for. The difficulty of each paper matches its education level, and merit is drawn separately for each post.

The fee was Rs. 100 per post-category applied. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen categories eligible for reservation were exempted from paying the fee; EWS candidates were not exempt. The last date for fee payment was 5 May 2026.

After the CBE, candidates are shortlisted post-wise on merit. Posts that prescribe a skill test (typing, data entry or computer proficiency) hold it as a qualifying stage. Document verification by the user department follows, where the post-specific essential qualification, age and category certificates are checked strictly. There is no interview.

सीबीई के बाद अभ्यर्थियों को पद-वार मेरिट के आधार पर शॉर्टलिस्ट किया जाता है। जिन पदों के लिए स्किल टेस्ट (टाइपिंग, डेटा एंट्री या कंप्यूटर दक्षता) निर्धारित है, वह क्वालिफाइंग स्तर पर होता है। इसके बाद संबंधित विभाग द्वारा दस्तावेज़ सत्यापन होता है, जिसमें पद-विशिष्ट अनिवार्य योग्यता, आयु और श्रेणी प्रमाणपत्रों की सख़्त जाँच होती है। कोई साक्षात्कार नहीं होता।

Pay varies by post across the 7th CPC pay matrix, roughly from Pay Level-1 (basic ₹18,000) for the lowest Group C posts up to about Level-7 (basic ₹44,900, going up to about ₹1,42,400) for the higher Group B non-gazetted posts, plus DA, HRA and other allowances as applicable at the place of posting. The age limit varied by post: most posts fell in the 18–25, 18–27, 18–28 or 18–30 bands (some up to 18–35), while several posts had higher minimum ages — 20–25, 20–30, 21–27, 21–28, 22–28 or 23–28 years — all calculated as on 1 January 2026. Relaxation applied as per government rules: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwBD (13 years for PwBD-OBC and 15 years for PwBD-SC/ST) and 3 years for Ex-Servicemen after deducting military service.
