No. This is a special Scouts & Guides quota recruitment. Only a President's Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or a Himalaya Wood Badge (HWB) holder, with 5 years of continuous active membership (from 01.04.2019) and the required National/All-India-Railways and State-level event participation, can apply.

नहीं। यह विशेष स्काउट्स एवं गाइड्स कोटा भर्ती है। केवल President's Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger अथवा हिमालय वुड बैज (HWB) धारक, जिनकी 01.04.2019 से 5 वर्ष की सतत सक्रिय सदस्यता तथा निर्धारित राष्ट्रीय/अखिल भारतीय रेलवे एवं राज्य स्तरीय भागीदारी हो, ही आवेदन कर सकते हैं।

Level-2: 12th pass with at least 50% marks (50% relaxed for SC/ST/Ex-SM/PwBD and for higher-qualified candidates); typing 30 wpm English/25 wpm Hindi needed for clerk-cum-typist posts. Level-1: 10th pass OR ITI/NAC from an NCVT/SCVT-recognised institution.

Age is reckoned as on 01.07.2026 with the same band for both levels: UR 18-33 years, OBC 18-36 years, SC/ST 18-35 years. Additional relaxation applies to Ex-Servicemen, PwBD and other special categories as per Railway Board rules.

Under the standard Railway Scouts & Guides framework, selection is out of 100 marks: a Written Test of 60 marks (40 objective questions + 1 essay, with 1/3rd negative marking) plus Assessment of Scouting Certificates worth 40 marks, followed by Document Verification and a Medical Examination. There is no interview. Confirm the written-test schedule on the NFR website.

Both levels are spread across the five NFR Divisions - Tinsukia, Lumding, Rangiya, Alipurduar and Katihar. For Level-1, that means 2 posts per Division (10 total); the 2 Level-2 posts are also distributed across these Divisions. Category-wise reservation roster is not printed in the official scan.

Level-1 posts are in Pay Matrix Level-1 (basic Rs. 18,000-56,900) and Level-2 posts in Pay Matrix Level-2 (basic Rs. 19,900-63,200) of the 7th CPC, plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other admissible Railway allowances.
